The eye vision test

To start your online vision test, you’ll need two things: a smartphone and a laptop or computer. The test will run on your computer screen and you’ll answer questions using the Visibly App. The test works like this:

See if you qualify: Start the test by answering a couple basic questions to see if you’re eligible.
- Age range of 18-55
- Must reside in IL
Prepare yourself: Remove your shoes and make yourself comfortable. Turn off any light sources that could interfere with the test.
Adjust your computer settings: Turn up the volume and screen brightness on your computer so you can better hear and see the test.
Connect to WiFi: Make sure your computer and phone are connected to the same WiFi. This will allow them to communicate with each other.
Step back: Stand at your computer, turn around and step away as instructed, so you can be at the correct distance for the test. It might be a good idea to place an object on the ground to mark the distance.
Follow the instructions: An audio guide will take you through the step-by-step test. You’ll answer each prompt via your smartphone.
Analysis: Once you’ve completed the test, your results will be analyzed a licensed eye doctor in less than 24 hours. Your prescription will then be signed and delivered straight to you when it’s ready.

Do I need to know my previous prescription to take Visibly’s online vision test?

Yes. Visibly is a prescription renewal service. The doctor will want to know your prescription history.

Who is eligible to take the Visibly vision test?

To qualify for the Visibly online vision test, you must be between 18 and 55 years old, per guidance from qualified medical advisors. You must also be based in the United States.

Where can I use my vision prescription from Visibly?

You can use your vision prescription at any vision retailer, including Eye Boutique. Your prescription is signed by a real board-certified ophthalmologist or optometrist licensed to practice in Illinois.

How do I access my prescription from Visibly?

After a licensed ophthalmologist or optometrist issues your prescription, you will receive an email with your prescription.

Am I guaranteed a prescription if I take Visibly’s online vision test?

Prescriptions are issued solely at the discretion of the ophthalmologist or optometrist who reviews your test results. If they decide it’s in your best interest to not receive a prescription, you will be notified and fully refunded for the cost of the test. Additionally, Visibly will not issue you a prescription if you do not meet their eligibility requirements.

What if my prescription is wrong?

If you’re not satisfied with your prescription, contact Visibly for a full refund.
